The Platinum 100 3G are engineered to deliver a truly exceptional listening experience from a relatively diminutive loudspeaker. With its new RDT III mid-bass driver cone and MPD III transducer, the Platinum 100 3G has been significantly improved over the previous generation, and sound is presented with a purity and precision that makes for an astoundingly engaging experience.
The cabinet design on Platinum Series 3G is all new. Beautifully detailed and expertly crafted, our industry-leading attention to detail and passion for quality ensures that each cabinet is elegant and refined on the eyes, while being engineered for total acoustic performance.
The Rigid Diaphragm Technology III (RDT III) cone has three new refinements over its predecessor. Firstly, a new rear layer featuring two uniform layers of carbon fibre skin helps reduce cone breakup, as does an optimised rubber surround. Finally, an optimized cone edge treatment extends the passband of the drivers. When combined, these innovations significantly increase the useable bandwidth, enabling improvements to the crossover and final response of the speaker. The result: Platinum 3G mid and bass drivers boast the lowest distortion of any Monitor Audio speaker in its history.
